Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction is an eight-week, 10 classes, evidence-based program that provides participants with intensive experiential training in mindfulness meditation and mindfulness movement. Throughout the program, you will learn how to integrate the new learnings into daily life.

THE MBSR PROGRAM:
With this 8-week, 10-class program you will experience powerful practices such as the body scan, mindful movement, loving-kindness meditation, sitting meditation, and walking meditation.

The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and colleagues and it is taught all over the world.
You will immerse yourself in the application of the MBSR practices in your daily life, including stress reduction, increased awareness, self-reflection, self-care, and self-esteem. The MBSR program supports health, healing, spiritual enrichment, and personal growth.
The MBSR 8-week program is the first mandatory step on the certification path to becoming an MBSR teacher. If you attend all 10 sessions, you will get a certificate that will entitle you to start your journey to become an MBSR teacher, in case that is your wish.

Orientation: Tuesday, April 25th, 2023 – From 6:00 am to 8:30 pm EST.
Class 1: Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023 – From 6:00 – 8:30 pm EST
Class 2: Tuesday, May 9th, 2023 – From 6:00 – 8:30 pm EST
Class 3: Tuesday, May 16th, 2023 – From 6:00 – 8:30 pm EST
Class 4: Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023 – From 6:00 – 8:30 pm EST
Class 5: Tuesday, May 30th, 2023 – From 6:00 – 8:30 pm EST
ALL-DAY ONLINE RETREAT CLASS: Saturday, June 3rd – 9:30 am to 4:30 pm
Class 6: Tuesday, June 6th, 2023 – From 6:00 – 8:30 pm EST
Class 7: Tuesday, June 13th, 2023 – From 6:00 – 8:30 pm EST
Class 8: Tuesday, June 20th, 2023 – From 6:00 – 8:30 pm EST
Cost:
Strengthening awareness and resilience to stress in 2023 – U$600.00.
Only $20 per hour. The program has 30 hours of teacher-participant and participant-participant interactions. You can engage in individual and group practices and receive individual feedback.
All 10 classes, including a full Day of Mindfulness is $600.00.
If you need more information about the MBSR program, after your registration, you will join us for The Orientation session on April 25th, 2023 at 6:00 pm EST. After the orientation session, if you decide that MBSR is not a good fit for you, you will receive a full refund with a deduction of U$35 for the administrative fee. The refund will be made using PayPal or Zelle, up to one week after the orientation session. ( We only need your phone number registered with your bank to process the refund using Zelle.)
The orientation session is required for all participants.
Material:

In the U.S. and some European countries (United Kingdom, Denmark, Germany), MBSR is advised at the hospital and medical level, as a complementary intervention to medical treatment.
Two decades of focused studies show that people who have completed this MBSR program show:

To take this MBSR program, here is what you will need as technology:
- Download the Zoom app for free, once you receive the Zoom link.
- Zoom is a reliable and widely used platform for video conferencing and teaching.
- A computer with a speaker, microphone, and camera.
- High-speed internet connection
- PLEASE NOTE: Tablets, phones, and Chrome Books are not recommended due to the inability to offer a full range of online experiences.

About the instructor:
Rossana L. Magalhaes, LCMHC
Rossana L. Magalhaes, LCMHC is a Board Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Certified MBSR Teacher. Rossana studied at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and became a Qualified MBSR Teacher. With persistence and determination, Rossana continued with numerous mindfulness-based retreats, training, and extensive supervision and received the title of Certified MBSR Teacher from the Mindfulness Center at Brown University, Rhode Island. Rossana was a Mindfulness teacher at the Brain Mechanisms of Pain and Health Laboratory at Wake Forest School of Medicine. Rossana earned an honors Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Science in Counseling and Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, UNCG. Rossana is originally from Brazil. Rossana has taught more than ten MBSR programs in the Triad area of North Carolina.
